I have just concluded my career as a Jefferson Forest Marching Cavalier and find myself saddened by the idea of it being over...I've spent 5 years of hot summer days to freezing windy nights dedicated to this activity and having it being over with leaves a large hole in my schedule...not to mention life.
Many great trips and memories were made during these past 5 years, I found new friends and learned to let others go, I learned what love was, and what it wasn't, and most of all, I had an amazing time performing great music with "a hundred and fifty of my closest friends" (as Webb always aptly put it).
I will sorely miss this activity as it defined my high school life, but I will look forward to Indoor Drumline this winter as it will be my final season of any travelling JF Music Ensemble. When that ends, and it will most likely pass by VERY quickly, I will only have a few more months left in high school, and in Advanced Symphonic Band which will be the final lifeline of mine to JF that will be cut this coming Spring. Graduation will be quite sad...being a Senior is harder than it looks, saying goodbye to the world you know is a scary thing, though saying hello to the future is kind of exciting.
